Every Year it is my mission to learn a new technique and add to my fiber arts knowledge. I have been a bit behind to actually join the C2C trend. In thought, A trip to Joann's inspired my annual gift giving of washcloths. This amazing towel was on sale and I thought what would be the best way to do a heart image? Inspiration ensued ! I decided to learn C2C just to do the heart image.
I would not recommend attempting C2C until you have basic chart/ pattern reading knowledge. Making dish clothes was the perfect way to learn. Easy to frog if mistake was made. Keeping myself honest, I personally frogged twice. Note to self you need to pay attention to your diagonal row numbers left & right.
I have been fascinated with the sparkle scrubby offered by Red Heart. My family has raved on the light quick drying features. It is 100% Polyester and machine washable. I am just elated how the sparkle scrubby worked out. For this project I also used cotton red heart Aran colorway for the ivory / pink combo. Using the Aran cotton, added a spa cloth touch to the wash cloth. I did carry my color throughout hearts, it can be barely seen in the end. If doing a large blanket , I would drop color or use bobbins. Since this was washcloth preferred to keep it simple quick.
I will be doing more C2C with the Sparkle ! Once you understand the pattern graphing it works up really quick. All materials used linked down below ! Happy Yarning !
